How to find us

By Air

Getting to Austria couldn't be easier, our closest airports are Salzburg and Linz, both about a 1 hour drive and are served well by the budget airlines from the UK.

www.easyjet.com :- Flights to Vienna and Munich (both about 3 hours drive)

Car Hire

Reasonable priced car hire is available at all airports, but is best booked in advance.
One of the most competitive car hire companies is www.holidayautos.co.uk Please note that when driving on Austrian motorways you are required to display a vignette sticker (motorway toll) on your windscreen. This costs about 7 euros a week and is available at all service stations. Most car hire companies will include this but it is best to ask.

By Road

To reach us by car leave Salzburg Airport and follow signs to the A1 towards Linz and Wien. Follow the A1 for about 15 minutes to the Thalgau Exit. Turn right and continue for about 10 minutes until you come to a roundabout. Turn left passing through the village of "Hof by Salzburg" and continue past lake Fuschl until you drop down to a roundabout, turn right through St Gilgen and follow road along lake Wolfgang. Continue past Bad Ischl through tunnel following signs to Ebensee and Gmunden. After about 10 minutes take turning for Roith. Turn right on bridge over main road and right again at junction. At next T junction turn left. Follow road taking right fork at "Mini Markt". After about a mile take a left turn into Lahnstraße. We are about 500m on the left. We have our own parking area directly outside the house.

From Linz Airport follow signs to A1 Salzburg. Turn right out of the airport. At roundabout turn right (Alle Richtungen) All directions. Continue accross roundabouts until you reach a roundabout with "Kärcher" showroom on the right. Turn right signposted Salzburg. Follow for a couple of miles across traffic lights and then turn right to join the A1 towards Salzburg. Follow for about 40 minutes and take turning for "Regau". At junction turn left towards Gmunden. Stay on this road passing Gmunden and follow alongside Lake Traunsee until you reach Ebensee. Turn into Ebensee through high street bearing left over bridge. Continue past "Spar Supermarket" and Train Station. Shortly after station the road takes a sharp left, at this point bear right across old railway and follow for about a mile taking sharp left across railway tracks once more until finding our house on the right hand side

Public Transport

The train from Salzburg changes once at Attnang Puchheim to reach Ebensee see www.oebb.at (where you can choose the English option.) To get to the Salzburg train station, take the shuttle bus outside Salzburg airport which runs every 10 mins.

Don't fancy driving on the 'wrong' side of the road ?

Whilst we would recommend that you have your own transport to get the most from your holiday we understand that some of our guests would rather not drive on "the wrong side" of the road. With this in mind we can offer airport transfers. (Max four passengers)

Airport transfers are charged from 100 Euro each way.
