Our early working lives were spent in London banks but after a few years we decided this just wasn't for us so we packed our bags and spent a couple of years backpacking around the world.  When we returned we worked in the holiday industry in the UK for about 10 years but always wanted to run our own guesthouse.

After we had our children we put things like skiing holidays on hold for a couple of years but as soon as we could we got them on skis.  It was then that we realised that the usual ski trip high in the French alps didn't work quite as well with young children. Looking for something more we spent a couple of holidays in Austria and found that there was so much more on offer from amazing skiing to lakeside walks and swimming pools.  What was more - the locals were genuinely friendly.

We looked for our guesthouse for some time and when we found Ebensee with wonderful lakes for summer fun and skiing areas all around us we know we had found our new home.
